This podcast was recorded and edited on a Macintosh Computer using the freeware Audacity. The music is titled Alone Together from the album Different Colours by Marconi Union.
I agree - it will be challenging for students to keep track of two different sites for their assignments. An idea that comes to mind is Weebly and it's built in blogging tool - sort of like one stop shopping. Looking forward to reading your last post.
A creepy one sided conversation? GREAT! Giving them time is class is always a great option. I agree with Susan, with finding one location for all (websites and blog). Great idea of using writing prompts! (as a solution to a bump in the road)
I love the creepy one-sided conversation...music helps! I like that the students need to collaborize on each others blogs...it does give them more ownership. I do like that the groups will have a blog as well.. I am all for the choice and the peer teaching. I was just at a conference that promoted the concept of students teaching!
Blogs are easy for students to set up! I also like the fact that you are doing a lot of writing. As an English teacher this is not only important in my classes but in other classes as well. Good self reflection on your implementation. It is always difficult the first time you introduce a new concept, but I think if you start out with the new process they will get used to it.
The music made this ed tech meets x-files! Great Job. Piggy backing off of Susan's post perhaps getting an education ning would be more like a one stop shop for everything that you described in your podcast.
